The CB Group’s Ferques Aggregates site has just obtained ISO 50001 certification, an international recognition that highlights the implementation of an effective and sustainable energy management system. This distinction confirms the commitment of the CB Group and its Aggregates division to energy efficiency, reducing consumption, and improving the environmental impact of its operations.
A structured energy initiative, launched in 2025 with the support of EDF
In 2025, theFerques sitelaunched a strategic energy optimization project, supported by experts fromEDF. This collaboration enabled the development of a comprehensive approach: analysis of usage patterns, enhanced monitoring of consumption, equipment management, and engaging teams inenergy efficiency efforts.
The goal: to consume less, consume more efficiently, and leverage energy asa driver of operational efficiency.
ISO 50001: An international standard for reducing energy consumption and GHG emissions
The ISO 50001 standard has now established itself as the global standard for organizations seeking to sustainably improve their energy performance.
In particular, it aims to:
- optimize energy consumption,
- reducegreenhouse gas (GHG) emissions,
- strengthen process management,
- frame these actions within a framework ofcontinuous improvement.
For an industrial activity such asaggregate production, this certification is a real asset: it improves cost control while reducing the carbon footprint.
