Prefectural visit to the heart of the CB Group

The Prefect of Hauts-de-France visits the CB Group headquarters and the Ferques Quarry

The CB Group was delighted to welcome Bertrand Gaume, Prefect of the Hauts-de-France region, to its headquarters in Leulinghen-Bernes, accompanied by representatives from the Hauts-de-France Regional Directorate for Environment, Development and Housing (DREAL) and the Pas-de-Calais Sub-Prefecture. This meeting was followed by an immersion in the Ferques Quarry, the largest open-pit quarry in France and a truly iconic site in the region.

A constructive exchange on industrial and regional issues

The Prefect's presence demonstrates the attention paid by the State to the activities of the CB Group, its structuring role within the regional economy, and its commitments to sustainable development.

For over 130 years, our independent family-owned group has been transforming and adding value to materials for the benefit of local communities. This mission, passed down from generation to generation, is based on a strong conviction: to reconcile industrial performance, environmental responsibility, and sustainable local roots.

Presentation of the CB Group's commitments and business lines

During this visit, our teams were able to present:

  • Our mission, our CSR commitments, and our responsible investments, all part of a path of continuous progress;
  • The challenges facing our four complementary sectors: Aggregates, Minerals, Refractories, and Wood;
  • The strategic role of the Ferques Quarry, a key site for our activities and for local ecosystems;
  • The expertise and passion of our employees, who perpetuate unique industrial know-how every day.

These exchanges reinforce the Group's determination to continue along the path we have been following for five generations, embodied by our raison d'être: "To make everyday life easier for women and men in a sustainable way, thanks to our teams, our products, and our solutions."
