OUR NEWS
Take a behind-the-scenes look at our operations in the Rhône-Alpes region.
Discover an essential and committed industrial activity for the region.
On Saturday June 14, 2025, Carrières Blanc invites you to take a behind-the-scenes look at the aggregates industry in the Rhône-Alpes region.
For over a century, Les Granulats du Groupe CB has been a key player in the extraction and recycling of mineral materials. Committed to a responsible approach to production, Groupe CB's Aggregates division supplies nearly 10.5 million tonnes of natural and recycled aggregates every year to industry, construction and public works.
The Group relies on a dense network of infrastructures in France and Europe: 9 quarries, 6 logistics platforms, 1 rail terminal and 1 industrial by-product processing plant. This organization enables optimized, environmentally-friendly distribution.
In the Rhône-Alpes region, Carrières Blanc embodies this local expertise with three operating sites located at Champdor, Plateau d'Hauteville-Lompnes and Izernore. These quarries play an active role in the supply of building materials, while taking concrete action to preserve biodiversity and reduce the impact of their activities.
An exceptional event not to be missed. We look forward to seeing you there!
The open house will be held on Saturday, June 14, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Access to the site will be exclusively by free, non-stopshuttle bus from the nearby visitor parking lot.
For your comfort and safety, we recommend that you wear closed-toe shoes suitable for walking on natural terrain.
A day of discovery at the heart of the Izernore quarry to explore Carrières Blanc's businesses, materials and commitments.
On Saturday June 14, 2025, the Izernore quarry will exceptionally open its doors to the public for an immersive and educational day. This event is aimed at all those curious to understand what goes on behind the scenes in the extractive industry: families, students, teachers, local elected representatives and geology and environment enthusiasts.
Admission is free, and access to the site will be exclusively by free shuttle bus from a dedicated parking lot. Guided tours by horse-drawn carriage and bus will allow visitors to explore the site in complete safety, from the quarry face to the production facilities.
The aim of this day is twofold: to explain the realities of careers in the quarry and to highlight the CB Group's commitment to social and environmental responsibility. It's a concrete way of illustrating how industry can reconcile performance, innovation and respect for the local environment in a long-term vision.
Themed stands to discover the know-how, environmental issues and men and women who bring the Izernore quarry to life.
This day is a concrete illustration of the Raison d'Être of the CB GroupGroup, which places people, nature and performance at the heart of its priorities. Through each activity, we invite you to discover how this vision comes to life in the field.
Throughout the day, visitors will be able to visit various educational and interactive stands spread across the site:
Machinery stand: discover the impressive construction machinery used to extract and transport materials. Demonstrations will take place throughout the day.
Geology stand: learn how to read the soil and learn about local geological history. A stand full of samples and explanations.
