Volta Transport & Saint Louis Sucre, a fine example of a customer/supplier partnership!
On the road to decarbonization thanks to the Etrépagny rail line, saving 300 tonnes of CO2 a year!
Volta Transport and Saint Louis Sucre are further consolidating their long-standing partnership ! And they are proud to contribute together to reducing our carbon footprint.
The dozens of kilometers of railway line dedicated entirely to the Saint Louis Sucre d'Etrépagny sugar refinery now have a new function. In addition to transporting sugar, it will now supply the factory with limestone, essential for the production of sugar from French beet!
In mid-April 2023, 21 railcars of "made in France" limestone made their way from Calais to Etrépagny, France, from Les Carrières du Boulonnais to Etrépagny for their first delivery.
Saint Louis Sucre is helping to reduce its carbon footprint by 300 tonnes of CO2 by replacing 950 trucks a year, thanks to its partnership with Volta Transport. With deliveries every 2 weeks between campaigns and once a week in the countryside, limestone is still on the rails!
