CB Group and Maisons des Enfants de la Côte d’Opale: An Immersive Experience at the Heart of Our Work
An educational tour to spark curiosity and broaden horizons
As part of its commitment to local stakeholders, the CB Group was pleased to welcome about twenty children, accompanied by the nonprofit organization Les Maisons des Enfants de la Côte d’Opale, for a day of discovery focused on sharing, learning, and gaining exposure to the industrial world.
Held at the Ferques site, within the Carrières du Boulonnais, this event is part of the ongoing partnership between the Maisons des enfants de la Côte d’Opale and the CB Group, and aims to introduce young people to careers in industry and raise their awareness of the realities of our business.
A Long-Term Partnership Dedicated to Youth
For several years, the CB Group has supported the nonprofit organization Les Maisons des Enfants de la Côte d’Opale, which provides guidance and protection to children and adolescents as they navigate life. This partnership was notably marked by the installation, in 2019, of a marble block at the “Petit Déjeuner sous l’Herbe” site, symbolizing a shared commitment to creating enriching experiences that foster young people’s discovery and personal growth.
This collaboration is also driven by the involvement of Corinne Strady-Adam, Director of Human Resources for the CB Group and a member of the association’s Council for Corporate Culture, who actively contributes to the implementation of new initiatives that promote openness to the professional world.
Take a look behind the scenes of a career and follow the journey of the stone
On the agenda for the day: a deep dive into the world of aggregates.
Led by José Lambert, a tour guide and former employee of Carrières du Boulonnais, the young visitors were able to learn how a quarry operates, understand the different stages in the stone’s journey, and gain insight into the variety of professions involved throughout the materials value chain.
This tour provided a better understanding of the essential role that aggregates play in our daily lives, as well as the skills required to extract, process, and transport these resources, which are indispensable for the construction of infrastructure and buildings.
Beyond the technical aspects, this immersive experience offered an opportunity to take a fresh look at the industry, its expertise, its innovations, and the men and women who bring it to life every day.
Promote exchanges between young people and professionals
The meeting continued at the CB Group headquarters with a discussion and Q&A session. These special moments provide a wonderful opportunity to share our passion, challenge certain misconceptions, and encourage people to explore sectors that are sometimes overlooked.
For the CB Group, opening the company’s doors to younger generations is a concrete way to fulfill its social responsibility and help strengthen ties between the business community and local stakeholders.
Industrial tourism: A tool for discovery and raising awareness
For several years now, the CB Group has been developing initiatives—particularly in the area of industrial tourism—that enable the general public, school groups, organizations, and local partners to learn about the realities of its industrial operations. This approach is fully in line with the Group’s commitment to promoting transparency, dialogue, and the sharing of knowledge regarding its business activities.
Through these tours, participants learn not only about industrial processes, but also about environmental commitments, biodiversity conservation issues, and the region’s exceptional geological heritage.
The CB Group would like to extend its warmest thanks to the staff and chaperones at the Maisons des Enfants de la Côte d’Opale, as well as to all the employees who helped organize this event.
Because discovery, dialogue, and knowledge-sharing are at the heart of our commitment, we are proud to help shed new light on the industry and to offer younger generations the opportunity to explore new career horizons.
